Situated in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, this adaptive reuse of an existing retail structure into a farmers coop brings new life to that struggling downtown. Including such amenities as vendor stands, grain silos, a retail store, an educational and outreach office and a community auditorium, it presented the challenge of placing a rural architype into an urban setting. This project sought to incorporate an iconic form, the diesel locomotive (which both supplies and delivers the goods of farmers), into a unified facade between old and new buildings.
