Envisioned as an oasis for women receiving cancer services in the Puget Sound, the True Family Women's Cancer Center is part of a $100 Million capital improvements campaign within Swedish Medical System.
During initial phases of the capital campaign, the hospital found that a majority of their "customers" are women. This is due to receiving specialized health services in general, but also because women traditionally serve as primary care providers for their families. Subsequently, the True Family Women's Cancer Center was given priority as the system seeks to provide less clinical, more "client-centric" environments campus-wide.
Given the prominent exposure of the project at the flagship downtown Seattle campus, as well as philanthropic leadership from the True Family Foundation, this center strives to create a calming and holistic setting which, when successful, can be applied to future departmental renovations.
